This is a lantern that expresses the traditional Japanese pattern “sainome” (dice pattern) in a three-dimensional form. The light and shadow filtering through the “sainome” cast a checkerboard pattern of luminous flowers at the feet of passersby.

It was created for the annual Hanatouro event held in Kyoto. This design won the Grand Prize in the 2015 competition.

「和柄の「賽の目」を立体的に表現した行灯です。「賽の目」からこもれ出る光と影は行き交う人々の足元に市松模様の光の花を咲かせます。

毎年京都で開催される、花灯路のための行灯です。2015年のコンペにて最優秀賞を取りました。
